Print, Chairs, No. XIV

This is a Print. It was designed by Thomas Chippendale and published by J Haberkorn and print maker: M. Darley and engraved by Matthias Darly. It is dated 1755 and we acquired it in 1920. Its medium is etching on off-white laid paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.


Although Thomas Chippendale was not the first to produce a book of furniture designs, the success of his publication led numerous others to follow in his path and many chair makers to adapt his designs.

This object was donated by Advisory Council and Advisory Council. It is credited Purchased for the Museum by the Advisory Council.
