Print, Chairs, No. XIV
This is a Print. It was designed by Thomas Chippendale and published by J Haberkorn and print maker: M. Darley and engraved by Matthias Darly. It is dated 1755 and we acquired it in 1920. Its medium is etching on off-white laid paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
Although Thomas Chippendale was not the first to produce a book of furniture designs, the success of his publication led numerous others to follow in his path and many chair makers to adapt his designs.
