Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Katy and student at Academy of the Sisters of Notre Dame. It is dated 1865 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is wool embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in cross stitch on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
