Embroidered Picture, The Judgement of Paris

This is a Embroidered picture. It is dated 1650–75 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk and metallic foil wrapped silk embroidery on silk foundation, mica and its technique is embroidered in stem satin, knot, couching and padded couching stitches with detatched and undetached looping (needle lace) on 4/1 satin foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer. It is credited Bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer.
