D6 Combiscope Slide Viewer And Projector, 1963
This is a Slide Viewer and Projector. It is dated 1963 and we acquired it in 2017. Its medium is molded plastic, enameled metal, glass, rubber. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
The D6 Combiscope was the second slide projector that Braun brought to market. It functioned as both a slide projector and, when tilted, as a viewer. Its compactness, simplicity, and clean lines are emblematic of Rams’s design aesthetic. The Combiscope provided an image with dimensions of 12 by 18 inches at a distance of four feet, allowing the projector operator to sit with their audience and enjoy a more intimate slide-viewing experience.
