Paternal side: Two aunts (Mrs. Cornelius Vanderbilt, Mrs. Ogden Goeletz), uncle was Tichard T. Wilson, president of Saratoga Racing Assn. Grandfather, Richard T. Wilson, came to N.Y> after the Civil War from Georgia wher his family went back for many generations and entered banking. The Wilson family became prominent in New York and Newport society and had a house on the southeast corner of 43rd Street and Fifth Avenue.
Maternal side: Grandparents were William Astor and Caroline Schermerhorn Astor and RTW is great-great-grandson of the original John Jacob Astor.
Graduated Harvard in 1908; Graduated New York Law School in 1910.
Married in 1921 to Miss Harriette A. Post, Daughter of Mrs. George B. Post and late Mr. Post. Marriage ended in Reno divorce in 1934 and she became Mres. Emmerich von Jeszensky of NYC.
Married again on July 16, 1942 to Mrs. Florence Ellsworth McFadden Seidenburg, who dies in 1943.
