Clarence House
Clarence House was founded in 1961 by the New York interior designer Robin Roberts on the premise that design integrity could be achieved through artistry and technical quality. Roberts believed there was a lack of options for home furnishings textiles in the American market so began by importing fabrics from Europe that has not yet been seen in America. Eventually Clarence House developed into its own textile design studio with an in-house art director, Kazumi Yoshida. Yoshida provided the company with connections to a vast network of European mills and textile archives and he continues to control the evolution of the company’s designs today.
