Cut-out, Cut-out Design for Spoon

This is a Cut-out. It was designed by Eva Zeisel and design team member: Olivia Barry. It is dated 2012 and we acquired it in 2014. Its medium is red-coated paper; verso: graphite, black marking pen; cut. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

Throughout her career, Eva Zeisel employed cut paper in her design process. These cutouts enabled her to refine and emphasize the curving silhouettes that are the hallmark of her work. Her Eva flatware, created for the retailer Crate & Barrel, is among her last designs. Zeisel’s design assistant, Olivia Barry, produced these cut-paper designs with Zeisel’s guidance.

This object was donated by Estate of Eva Zeisel. It is credited Gift of the Estate of Eva Zeisel.

Its dimensions are

24 x 4.6 cm (9 7/16 x 1 13/16 in.)
