Print, Textile Design: Blocks and Grid, May 2012

This is a Print. It was designed by Scholten & Baijings. It is dated May 2012 and we acquired it in 2014. Its medium is inkjet print on white paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

Dutch designers Scholten & Baijings have been working on Blocks and Grid for several years. They started their design process with sketches and material experiments that were made in their studio. They searched for suitable yarns and colors and then created a color palette. Experts became involved in the next phase, and the designers worked with the TextielLab/Textielmuseum in Tilburg (The Netherlands). Baijings said, “We kept adjusting our design on the basis of these experiments until the result matched our initial ideas.”

This object was donated by Scholten & Baijings. It is credited Gift of Scholten & Baijings.
