Candy Wear Bracelet, 1999

This is a bracelet. It was designed by Daniel Jocz. It is dated 1999 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is electroformed, assembled and soldered silver covered in electrostatically applied rayon flocking bonded with adhesive; magnets (clasp). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This whimsical bracelet and related pieces from Jocz’s Candyware series (2016-34-50-a/c and 2016-34-51), remind both wearer and viewer that one of the most important aspects of jewelry is enjoying what you wear. The bold forms convey a sense of fun with their simple shapes covered in neon-colored flocking, an unconventional material with a soft, fuzzy texture.
