Apple Vase, 1957

This is a Vase. It was designed by Ingeborg Lundin and made by Orrefors. It is dated 1957. Its medium is blown glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

The familiar form of the Apple vase expresses a softer type of modernism that became popular following World War II. The round shape exploits the clarity of the glass exceptionally well; this vase readily demonstrates the simplicity and grace for which Lundin’s designs are praised.
