Pants, Pants, 1964

This is a Pants. It was designed by Bonnie Cashin and Dorothy Wright Liebes and manufactured by Philip Sills & Co..

This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising Museum as part of A Dark, A Light, A Bright: The Designs of Dorothy Liebes.

It is dated 1964. Its medium is linen, suede. It is a part of the Exhibitions department.

Liebes and Cashin shared a passion for clear, saturated hues. Cashin proposed this spicy check for skirts, tunics, and bags, in addition to this coat. Its spare and elegant suede trim and brass toggle hardware highlight the vibrant colors and subtle textures of the handwoven linen.

It is credited Loan courtesy of the FIDM Museum at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Los Angeles. Gift of the Souther Oregon Historical Society..

This object was previously on display as a part of the exhibition A Dark, A Light, A Bright: The Designs of Dorothy Liebes.
