Book, The Other Side of the Rainbow, being the Adventures of Old-Fashioned Jane

In the 1890s, Sophia Crownfield befriended the artist Katherine Pyle (American, 1863–1938), who lived in New York while studying at the Art Students League of New York where Crownfield was also a member. By 1910, Pyle was already a successful children’s book author and illustrator and may have recommended Crownfield for the job of producing the frontispiece (main illustration facing the book’s title page) and illustrations that appear throughout Bone’s book.
