Tureen Tureen

This is a tureen. It was designed by Martha Katzer and manufactured by Karlsruhe Maiolica Factory. It is dated 1930 and we acquired it in 2019. Its medium is earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Andrew van Styn. It is credited Gift of Andrew Van Styn from the estate of Don Magner.

Its dimensions are

H x W x D (a: bowl): 23.8 × 25.4 × 30.5 cm (9 3/8 in. × 10 in. × 12 in.) H x diam. (b: lid): 7.6 × 26 cm (3 in. × 10 1/4 in.)

It has the following markings

Underside of bowl: [1] a crown above a shield with wavy line underneath, stamped in black (factory mark). [2] "2698", stamped in black (model number). [3] "Made in Germany", stamped in black.
