The Street Ahead
This is a The Street Ahead. It was produced by Driverless Future Challenge, EDG, Zaha Hadid Architects (London, UK) and EcoDeo and collaborator: WXY and DLANDstudio. Its medium is videos. It is a part of the department.
Streets cover over 80% of public land in U.S. cities. The advent of connected and autonomous vehicles (CVs and AVs) provides cities an opportunity to reimagine this public space by exploring designs that transform what has primarily been a means of conveyance into safer, more resilient, less congested, multi-modal, people-centered streetscapes. This video demonstrates how designers reimagined the street in three locations.
