Leningrad 1935 Tea Service, 1935

This is a tea service. It was designed by Eva Zeisel. It is dated 1935 and we acquired it in 1989. Its medium is enameled and gilt porcelain. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited The Henry and Ludmilla Shapiro Collection; Partial gift and partial purchase through the Decorative Arts Association Acquisition and Smithsonian Collections Acquisition Program Funds.

It has the following markings

On underside: Lomonosov mark for 1937 stamped in orange overglaze; (in Russian:) 'V. Freze / "Leningrad 1935"' handpainted in black overglaze; hammerc sickle, cog stamped in green underglaze (faint)
