Drawing, Design for Acratherm Gauge

This is a Drawing. It was designed by Henry Dreyfuss and drafted by Roland Stickney. It is dated May 19, 1943 and we acquired it in 1997. Its medium is brush and gouache, graphite, pen and black ink on illustration board. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.

Numerous drawings leading up to the Honeywell Round Thermostat, completed in 1953, reveal Dreyfuss’s attention to user interaction. Some designs incorporate a clock face, giving the product an additional function.
