Tray (USA), ca. 1928

This is a Tray. It was made by Wallace Bothers and manufactured by Weidlich Brothers Manufacturing Company. It is dated ca. 1928 and we acquired it in 1995. Its medium is silverplated brass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Radiating lines, as on this silver-plated tray, were a strong feature of late 1920s design. Weidlich’s use of silver plate made this striking design element accessible to a broad market.

This object was donated by Denis Gallion and Daniel Morris. It is credited Gift of Denis Gallion and Daniel Morris.
