Vase (France)
This is a vase. It was created by Emile Gallé. It is dated 1884–89 and we acquired it in 1990. Its medium is earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Emile Galle designed glass, ceramics and furniture, sometimes incorporating Japanese motifs. By 1904 his workshop employed three hundred workers, producing one of a kind objects in large numbers.
It is credited Museum purchase from Sarah Cooper Hewitt and Decorative Arts Association Acquisition Funds, and General Acquisitions Endowment.
