Sampler (Spain)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Isadora Taxada and student of Maria Bacas. It is dated possibly 1776 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk embroidery on cotton foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, cross, stem, chain, four-sided, back, and running stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer and donated by Susan J. Brown. It is credited Bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer.
