Sampler (Germany)

This is a Sampler. It is dated after 1795 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk and metal threads (flat metal and metal-wrapped silk) on silk foundation and its technique is embroidered in satin, french knots, stem and chain stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
