Sampler (USA)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Laura Bowker. We acquired it in 1941. Its medium is silk and metallic (metal-wrapped silk core) embroidery, linen foundation, painted paper, kid leather and its technique is embroidered in stem, satin, knot and couching stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles Department department.

This object was bequest of Mrs. Henry E. Coe.
