Chintz Fragments (India)

This is a Chintz fragments. It is dated late 18th century and we acquired it in 1973. Its medium is cotton and its technique is mordants for red and purple applied over resist; madder dyed; blue applied by immersion over resist, (chintz) on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.
