Pair Of Cachepots And Liners
This is a Pair of cachepots and liners. It is dated Ca. 1765 and we acquired it in 1969. Its medium is painted tôle, wire. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
In order to add extra decorative flair to indoor and outdoor gardens, flower pots are often carved or painted themselves, the latter of which is seen in this example. The pagodas in this pot’s scene, along with the curved border that surrounds them, have been done in a traditional Asian aesthetic.
