Waistcoat
This is a Waistcoat. It is dated 1730–50 and we acquired it in 1962. Its medium is silk, buckram and its technique is embroidered in satin, running and knot stitches, with couched crimped thread on a satin foundation. the garment is lined with silk moiré and the skirt in interlined with buckram (sized heavy linen plain weave). It is a part of the Textiles department.
