This is a Pleated fan. It is dated 1840s and we acquired it in 1955. Its medium is hand-colored printed paper and parchment leaf, pierced and incised mother-of-pearl sticks with applied metallic foil, gilt metal bail . It is a part of the Textiles Department department.
