This is a Chocolate pot and lid. It was manufactured by Meissen Porcelain Factory. It is dated ca. 1740 and we acquired it in 1938. Its medium is underglaze enamel, glazed and gilt hardpaste porcelain; gilt brass (mount). It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Bequest of Erskine Hewitt.
