Kimono (Japan), ca. 1800

This is a Kimono. It is dated ca. 1800 and we acquired it in 1931. Its medium is silk embroidery, silk foundation and its technique is embroidered on compound satin weave. It is a part of the Textiles Department department.

This object was donated by Eleanor Garnier Hewitt and Sarah Cooper Hewitt. It is credited Gift of Eleanor and Sarah Hewitt, from the textile collection of Mrs. Abram Stevens Hewitt.
