Tuomas Markunpoika

Tuomas Markunpoika explores metaphysics in the design of objects. Markunpoika, born in the provincial city of Jyväskylä, Finland, was trained as an industrial designer at Finland’s Lahti Institute of Design and Fine Arts. After an exchange at the Danish Design School in Copenhagen and an internship with Marcel Wanders’s studio in Amsterdam, he pursued a more conceptual path for design. Markunpoika graduated with a master’s in contextual design from the Design Academy Eindhoven in Netherlands and set up his practice in Amsterdam, where he currently lives and works.
