Fortnum & Mason is a London-based department store whose origins can be traced back to a grocery store founded in 1705. Throughout the 1920s and 1930s the department store commissioned prominent graphic designers of the period, such as E. McKnight Kauffer to design invitations for its season fashion shows, as well as other promotional material.
