L.H. Myers was an English philosophical novelist whose most compelling works explore spiritual turmoil and despair. He studied at Eton College, continuing his education in Germany, and briefly attending the University of Cambridge. His attention turned exclusively to writing following the death of his father in 1901. His first novel was published in 1922, and he would publish six more works before his death by suicide in 1944.
