George Jensen Inc. was a stylish store for home goods located at 667 Fifth Avenue (at 53rd Street) from 1935 to 1968. The retail establishment was started by Frederick Lunning as a destination for Scandinavian imports. It was the second iteration of Lunning’s store Georg Jensen Handmade Silver, Inc., which he established in 1923 as the only American outlet for Jensen silver designs. Following World War II Lunning expanded the stock’s representation to include the leading figures of American design. The store sold ceramics, lighting, tablewares, jewelry, desk accessories, decorative boxes, silver, and more.
