Charles Leviez was a French ballet dancer, based in London, England for over twenty years, dancing at the Royal Drury Lane Theatre and Convent Garden Theatre in London from the 1730s. He became the Ballet Master at the Royal Drury Lane Theatre, under the ownership of David Garrick. He was an important collector and publisher of prints of drawings from his collection adn championed many young artists, includign Jean Baptiste Pillement. After retiring, he returned to Paris to focus on his print business, working form his address at rue rue St. André des Arts vis a vis L’hôtel Château Vieux.
