Cooper Hewitt says...

SUPERFLOWER is a design studio established in 2019 by Andrew Zuckerman and his wife, Nicole Bergen, to produce textiles and wallpapers. Andrew is a photographer, filmmaker, creative director, and curator. Florescence is the studio's first wallpaper collection and contains nine different patterns, with each pattern available in nine different colorways. All of the patterns are based on Zuckerman’s floral photography.

Zuckerman received his BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 1999. In 2006 he co-founded the company “Late Night and Weekends”, through which he released an acclaimed documentary. He also created campaigns for brands including Puma and Gap. He began his career as a still-life photographer in 2007, when he released his first book “Creature.” This was followed by two more books: “Bird” in 2009, and “Flower” in 2012. Inspired by botanical drawings of the nineteenth century, Zuckerman captures his subjects with taxonomical precision with his signature field of white light. His aim is to translate the essential nature of the species and unearth qualities that have previously escaped scrutiny. Zuckerman enters a lot of his projects with a preservationist impulse, with his photographs serving as a record in a world that’s rapidly being depleted of natural resources.
