Max Huber

Max Huber was a Swiss graphic designer who spent much of his career in Italy. He was born in Baar in 1919, and after his training at the Kunstgewerbeschule spent his early years working in Zurich. He moved to Milan in 1940 where he began his relationship with Studio Boggeri, but was forced to return to Zurich the following year, as a result of WWII. After the war, he became creative director for the Milanese publishing house Giulio Einaudi. He gained acclaim for his creation of a graphic identity for La Rinascente--an Italian department store symbolic of the country's post-war economic and cultural restoration.
