Richard Parminster Cuff was born in Wellington in County Somerset. An architect and engraver, he exhibited at the Royal Academy in London from 1860 to 1876. He was one of the illustrators commissioned by John Ruskin (1819–1900) to work on the second edition of his Stones of Venice, replacing the original plates made by the author. (JGK)
