Known for his designs for the 1947 Studebaker Starlight Coupe, S-1 Steam locomotive for the Pennsylvania Railroad, the Coca Cola bottle, Lucky Strike, Greyhound Bus, Pennsylvania S-1 Locomotive, Exxon and Shell logos, etc. Co-founder of Raymond Loewy Associates (renamed Loewy/Snaith in 1961). Founder of CEI (Compagnie d'Esthetique Industrielle) in 1952. Active in the United States from 1919.
