Little is known about Ann Smith. According to Art for Every Home: An Illustrated Index of Associated American Artists Prints, Ceramics, and Textile Designs (Mariana Kistler Beach Museum of Art, 2016), Smith designed two textiles that were produced by M. Lowenstein & Sons as part of the Signature Fabrics collection. From 1953 through 1955, her designs appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and Women’s Wear Daily. Her work is included in the collection of the Helen Louis Allen Textile Collection of the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
