This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Museum of Fine Arts, Houston as part of The Jazz Age: American Style in the 1920s.
George Hoyningen-Heuné’s Swimwear by Izod was one of a series of images of leisure along the fashionable French Riviera that appeared in the Paris edition of Vogue in 1930. Horst P. Horst, Hoyningen-Huené’s protégé, is the male model in this image.
It is credited Lent by The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Museum purchase funded by the Geoffrey and Barbara Koslov Family, The Manfred Heiting Collection, 2002.2868.
