Sensuous Thorn Bracelet
This is a Bracelet. It was designed by Shana Kroiz. It is dated 2011 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is cast and oxidized silver, copper wire. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.
Kroiz created this bracelet as a flowing form that celebrates the female body and sensuality, and uses the wrist as its pedestal. She drew inspiration from a combination of primitive tools and aquatic sea life. Kroiz used the lost wax casting method to create the cuff-like bracelet, first carving the form in wax, then casting it in silver, and finally embellishing it with other metals and bracelet findings.
