“Chimerica speculates on the identity of the Chinese man who was photographed standing in front of a column of tanks in Tiananmen Square, Beijing, after the massacre of protestors in June 1989. The director Lyndsey Turner and I drew on the framing and shuttering mechanics of a camera as we developed a rotating, sculptural device to propel the action through multiple locations and perspectives.”
