Model, The Hunt

This is a Model. It is dated 2019. Its medium is acrylic, laser-cut mdf, two-way mirror, and led, recreated for exhibition; staged 2019, almeida theatre, london, uk. It is a part of the department.

“The rotating house for The Hunt operated like a magician’s box. The simple form of a house was fabricated in smart glass, which becomes opaque with electric current. At times it conjured the warmth of a home, at others it encased the protagonist in his ostracization from the small-town community. Sometimes its glass surface condensed the entire community. Occasionally the house served as shelter within a forest den, where its glass was threatened by pounding masculine drinking rituals.”

It is credited Courtesy of Es Devlin.
