This object is not part of the Cooper Hewitt's permanent collection. It was able to spend time at the museum on loan from Archives of American Art, New York, N.Y. as part of A Dark, A Light, A Bright: The Designs of Dorothy Liebes.
This drawing depicts weavers in the midst of a good natured but competitive scrum at the studio yarn sale. Daren Pierce is looking for yarns for Bill Pahlmann, while Louise Fong is selecting things for her family members. Liebes appears as a clock face, wearing her customary hat, with the hour and minute hands seemingly counting down the time till the end of the sale.
