This is a Commode. It was designed by Émile-Jacques Ruhlmann. It is dated Designed 1923, Executed c. 1927 and we acquired it in 2017. Its medium is mahogany with amaranth wood veneers inlaid with ivory banding and applied carved ivory sabots, cast silvered bronze (handles and keyhole escutcheons).

It is credited Gift of Lorna Kettaneh and Joyce Longworth in loving memory of their mother Mary Kettaneh.
