Cream Ladle with Compressed Circular Bowl Ladle, ca.1955

"In addition, there was a growing revival of eighteenth-century simplicity in England, as exemplified by the work of Crichton Brothers, and in the United States by Arthur Stone (fig. 80), Gebelein, and others, especially in the Boston area. Concurrently, Arts and Crafts handcrafted flatware was occasionally produced from the same firms who worked in the revival styles, as well as by others who specialized in this movement, such as the Kalo workshops in Chicago (1904-20)."

On reverse of stem: [1] “HAND WROUGHT” and “ONC", impressed (manufacturer’s marks, Old Newbury Crafters) [2] “STERLING” in rectangle, impressed (standard) The marks "HAND WROUGHT" followed by "STERLING" in a rectangle and "ONC" with with no periods represent the manufacturer's transitional marking systems in use about 1950-1960.

On obverse of terminal: [1] Stylized initials “A” and “T” stacked within a large “W”, engraved
