Fragment, Le marchand d'Orvietan

This is a Fragment. It was made by Dubern & Cie.. It is dated ca. 1785 and we acquired it in 1995. Its medium is cotton and its technique is printed by engraved copper plate on plain weave. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Elinor Merrell. It is credited Bequest of Elinor Merrell.

Its dimensions are

Warp x Weft (all edges cut): 107.5 x 25.5 cm (42 5/16 x 10 1/16 in.) Repeat H: 91.4 cm (36 in.)

It has the following markings

a partial chef at the bottom. " MANUFACTURE DE DUBERN. ET CO" and the tops of a few characters on the second line indicating a plural or possessive for one word and a number which might be 17.
