Runner, Spring

This is a Runner. It is dated 1940–70 and we acquired it in 1993. Its medium is cotton, wool, linen, viscose, metal, lurex, plastic and its technique is hand woven with wide strips of printed cotton incorporated in an open plain weave; stitched to a sheet of plastic. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was donated by Eric and Sylvia Elsesser. It is credited Gift of Mr. Eric and Mrs. Sylvia Elsesser, The Trude Guermonprez Archives.

H x W: 212 x 46.5 cm (6 ft. 11 7/16 in. x 18 5/16 in.)

It is inscribed

Printed paper Trude Guermonprez label attached. Also two cardboard handwritten tags, "'SPRING' TRUDE GUERMONPREZ" and "TAO 34 GUERMONPREZ SPRING".
