Poster, World Cities and the Future of the Metropoles
This is a Poster. It was designed by Italo Lupi. It is dated 1988 and we acquired it in 1989. Its medium is offset lithograph on white paper. It is a part of the Drawings, Prints, and Graphic Design department.
Having trained as an architect, Italo Lupi has experience translating ideas into three-dimensional forms. He brings this specialized knowledge to graphic design, where he constructs type that appears to spring off the page. This poster contains a series of letters to which Lupi has added drop shadows, effectively transforming them into buildings. The content of the poster relates to the theme of urban design, the subject of the XVII Triennale di Milano exhibition.
