Coffee Pot And Cover

This is a Coffee pot and cover. We acquired it in 1986. Its medium is silver, glazed earthenware, bakelite. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Nickel-plated brass elongated semi-spherical teapot resting on two splayed strips of the metal, which serve as feet. There is a thick-looking slab of vertical dark wood attached to a slimmer piece of the metal, which is the handle. The spout, halfway around the teapot from the handle, is shaped like a right triangle. The lid is flat, with a horizontal slab of dark wood as a knob. The grey metal is quite tarnished. The teapot is pictured with other matching objects in the set: a cup, sugar bowl, and creamer.
