Sampler (Scotland)

This is a Sampler. It was embroidered by Emelie Husband. It is dated mid-18th century and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk embroidery on wool foundation; linen edging and its technique is embroidered in cross, double running, knot, herring bone, eyelet, and cross over cross stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

This object was bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer. It is credited Bequest of Gertrude M. Oppenheimer.
